One of last year's sewing projects was a stack, cut & rearrange project. Six blocks were made, but I wasn't happy with how they looked. First, I added a 1 inch border to each block to bring it to the correct size for adding the next border: four patches that finished at 2 inches. I really liked the look of each block at this point, but now I needed to bring them together with a sashing color that was absent from all six blocks: blue! It was the perfect hue to complement all six blocks. The final border was pulled from my stash. It was fabric I bought several years ago at Marden's, a salvage chain here in Maine. I'm not sure why I bought so much of it, but I had plenty for the borders. It is now quilted, bound, and ready to be gifted to my mom as a lap quilt.
Til next time,
Mary
